New San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver Marquise Goodwin is also known as “Flash,” which makes sense, because he is incredibly fast. He ran a 4.27 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, and competed in the 2012 Olympics in track and field. Another interesting tidbit about Goodwin, there seems to be some tension between him and Rashard Robinson. Who’s excited for training camp?

Goodwin comes to Santa Clara from Buffalo. Though a lot of variables factored in his decision to sign with the 49ers, the climate definitely didn’t hurt.

“Being able to have the opportunity to come to an organization like this is a blessing, a blessing in disguise,” said Goodwin. “Coming from Buffalo, totally different. The culture, the winning tradition here, the people here, the sun, the warm weather. Everything about it is just different. So, I’m thankful for the opportunity.”

After battling injuries during the 2014 and 2015 season, Goodwin had a solid campaign in 2016 with 431 yards and three touchdowns on 29 catches. The Niners are hoping he can continue that upward trend in 2017 and stay healthy.
