The stage is set for Sunday’s AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the drama began early when Steelers’ WR Antonio Brown put Mike Tomlin’s locker room speech on Facebook live and Tomlin referred to the Pats twice as assholes. Don’t you just love football?

Name calling aside, this game will be a quarterback battle between Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger.

New England Patriots vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

In this week’s Talking Touchdowns game preview, I take a look at the matchup, including:

  • Pittsburgh has won nine in a row and even though they didn’t score a touchdown against the Chiefs, they still scored 18 points. Those killer bees of Ben, Brown and Bell are literally killing defenses, averaging over 25 points a game during that span. And if they can’t get in the end zone, the fourth B, kicker Chris Boswell, and his six field goals the other night, can pick up the slack.
  • However, they will be up against a New England defense that has only allowed about 15 points per game. Roethlisberger and friends are going to want to turn field goals into touchdowns. And, lucky us, we’re going to get a real life look at the Malcolm Butler – Antonio Brown matchup that we keep seeing in that Papa John’s commercial!
  • New flash – Tom Brady is really, really good you guys. Yes, he threw two interceptions the other night but he also threw two touchdowns and for 287 yards. And he will be playing in his 11th AFC Championship in 15 seasons. That is crazy.
  • Brady will be looking for his receiving corps to pick up the Rob Gronkowski slack, but his secret weapon will be running back Dion Lewis, who scored three touchdowns against the Texans, one on a kickoff return, one rushing and one receiving. That is also crazy.
  • Steelers’ linebackers Ryan Shazier and Lawrence Timmons are going to have to get keep a close eye on Lewis.
  • You’ll have to watch for my game prediction.

Thanks for watching! This should be a good game. May the best team win!
