IMG_4536Well, they sure don’t make it easy – but the San Francisco 49ers leave New York with a win, and that’s all that matters for today. This win belongs to the defense, who picked off Eli Manning five times and sacked him twice. Two of those picks went to Chris Borland, who is quickly making a name for himself in the NFL and giving 49ers fans confidence that, though no one can replace Patrick Willis and he is sorely missed on the field, we will be ok with the incredibly talented Borland filling in for the remainder of the season. There is no denying that there was an Aldon Smith factor on the field. Just his presence had the Giants in a tizzy and allowed players like Borland, Chris Culliver, Eric Reid, and Aaron Lynch to come up big with INTS and sacks.

The Niners offense still left a lot to be desired, but Colin Kaepernick connected with Michael Crabtree for a 48-yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter that put SF up 16-10, and it turned out to be enough. However, Crabtree dropped two key passes and Kaepernick overthrew Vernon Davis and Brandon Lloyd for what would have been TDS. That being said, Kaepernick had a solid day and did what needed to be done to get his team the win – and that’s what a QB does.

So, the 49ers live to see another day and keep their playoff hopes alive. Back to Santa Clara, where San Francisco goes to work to #BeattheRedskins. It’s probably too much to ask that next week they win with a little more ease, so I will just ask that next week they win. Big day Niners fans! Go Niners!
