Happy Thanksgiving Ramily! Well, I’m not sure where to begin. Jared Goff got his first official start and his first official loss. How did we throw that game away in the last few minutes?! Well, I know how we did and now we need to fix some major issues before we take on the Saints this week. Here are my notes:
- Jared Goff looked alright. Not terrible, not great and he didn’t score at all. Goff went 17 of 31 for 125 yards. I think my friends at the RamsWire said it best when they explained how Fisher said “He did a really good job. No delay of games.” So no delay of games means he did a GREAT JOB?
- Goff will be going up against an average Saints defense, ranked 27th in the league. They are allowing the third most points per game at 28.6, so they are a defense that can be exploited if the Rams and Goff can put together a solid performance. Goff has a real opportunity in front of him to take advantage of one of the league’s worst pass defenses. So hopefully he got his feet wet this past week, I mean that literally, and will be ready to take the next step!
- The Rams defense will be up against star quarterback Drew Brees. Similar to the Dolphins last week, the Saints trailed 20-3 heading into the 4th quarter but Drew Brees rallied the Saints to 17 points in the fourth quarter vs the Panther. This week, the Rams’ secondary has to be precise and for goodness sakes, the Defense must watch their penalties. If the Rams want any chance at all to get the W, they must find a way to keep Drew Brees off the field.
This week is going to be tough! You will have to watch my video to see if I give the Rams the W!
