5 Fun Facts About 49ers’ Jimmie Ward

Hello my Faithful friends. As expected, the San Francisco 49ers had a tough week two match up against the Carolina Panthers. The Niners lost 46-27, and though at one point it looked close, it never really was. Seattle is up next, so it’s not going to get any easier.

On the plus side, the 49er defense looked pretty good the first half of the game. Heat, fatigue, and the talent of the Carolina Panthers set in, causing the defense to look tired and out of sorts. There were a number of rough plays in Charlotte, but generally, so far, the 49er defense has given fans a reason to smile in the first two games of the season.

25 year-old safety turned cornerback Jimmie Ward had a great week one. Week two brought some challenges, but that was true of everyone on the team. So here’s a fun video to brighten your day!

I had a the chance to talk to Ward after practice a couple weeks back and learn a little more about the third year player out of Northern Illinois University.

In this addition of 5 Fun Facts, Ward gives us a look into the inner workings of what makes him tick, including:

  • His favorite television network
  • His unusual pets
  • Where he was born
  • Where he was raised (not the same place)
  • His siblings
  • And we even get a bonus fact of his favorite TV show and what he is looking forward to most on the upcoming season.

Thanks for watching! Here’s hoping Ward and friends have a better game at Century Link field on Sunday.
