1. Can’t take the girl out of Texas! The cliché actually works pretty well for Charli. Born and raised in Texas, Charli was originally committed to play college ball at UConn, but decided to play for Texas to be closer to her family. Now, she’s fittingly beginning her WNBA career with the Dallas Wings.
  2. Who can forget her Draft Night look? Charli absolutely stunned in her custom Sergio Hudson black asymmetric dress, perfectly accented with gold accessories. But get this. It was actually the first time a celeb designer EVER designed a piece for a WNBA draftee!
  3. “Nobody can stop you but yourself, Charli”. Those are the words Charli’s late father, Elliott, would use to encourage her. Charli lost her dad when she was just 16, but he was her inspiration. She says he used to tell her she would be the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft one day…and now look at her!
  4. She doesn’t plan on stopping at “professional athlete”, Charli wants to pursue a career as a Sports Broadcaster. She launched Center Court with Charli Collier, her own IG Live talk show, last year and even shadowed Maria Taylor at a football game in 2019!
  5. It’s not a coincidence, Charli wears No. 35 because of another very famous former Texas Longhorn: Kevin Durant. KD is one of Charli’s favorite players, and the two are actually friends IRL! He even Facetimed her before the Draft and made sure everyone knew she was his pick to go No. 1.

I created Fangirl Sports Network as a place for female sports fans to follow their favorite teams with content and coverage that speaks directly to females. It started with one and then eight and now 32 NFL Fangirls and 15 NBA Fangirls.
