1. Living up to the name. Sauce’s real name is Ahmad, but earned his nickname at the age of six from a youth football coach. In his first few months with the Jets, his coaches and teammates called him by Ahmad, insisting he had to earn his nickname on the field.
  2. Historic pick. Sauce played college football at the University of Cincinnati for three seasons before entering the draft in 2022. He became the highest NFL draft pick in University of Cincinnati history when he was drafted fourth overall.
  3. Lights out. During Sauce’s college career at Cincinnati, he never allowed a touchdown or gave up more than 20 receiving yards in a game. He’s continued his lights out performance in his rookie season with the Jets, leading the NFL with 13 passes defensed.
  4. Chain game. Sauce showed up to the NFL draft rocking a chain that read “Sauce” and a chain of a sauce bottle. He keeps actual sauce in the bottle chain and likes to sport both necklaces before Jets games.
  5. Avid gamer. Sauce enjoys to play video games off the field and has over 17,000 followers on his Twitch channel. His favorite games are “Call of Duty: Warzone” and “NBA2K23.”
