Warriors Fangirl

Are We Headed for a Warriors vs. Cavaliers Trilogy? I Think Yes.

After eight games, it is business as usual for the Warriors. Playoff perfection has been maintained with an 8-0 record. Going forward, can the Warriors be perfect? No team has ever run the board 16-0 in a playoff run. But is it possible they run the table in the West? Can they sweep San Antonio or Houston? I am not sure.

The Spurs and Rockets are great competitors and both teams are playing good basketball, fighting hard to get to the Western Conference Finals.

And, it is too early to start looking at the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are also a perfect 8-0. But, Draymond Green recently commented regarding the Cavs:

“I thought teams would compete a little harder,” Green said. “I just watched San Antonio-Houston. I like to watch good basketball. When you watch Cleveland play, you’re only watching one side of the good basketball. That’s kind of weak.”

Both teams have another week of rest while the rest of the playoff contenders battle it out. Whether or not it is conceivable that Cleveland or Golden State sweep their way into the Finals, it appears they are on a collision course to face off in the Finals.

Can anyone stop the Warriors and Cavs? (via @sportscenter)

The Cavs and Warriors still have four wins to go before they can truly think about the NBA Finals. Rule No. 1 in any Athlete’s Manual: Never admit you’re looking ahead even when it’s evident the contender in your immediate path is about to be squashed.

But the postseason has proven that few teams in either conference truly seems poised to stack up against either team. With that knowledge, it certainly seems like Green is already playing mind games with the Cavs. Love him or hate him, Draymond is one player you do not want in your head.

Nonetheless, while it appears both teams are preparing for the next team, they are keeping their eyes on what’s to come.
