By October 7, 2016 No Comments

The 2016 NFL season is in full swing and while 49ers Fangirl Tracy and Rams Fangirl Taylor have been keeping you up to date with everything going on with the 49ers & Rams, here’s what’s happening in other NFL news.

The Brady Bunch is Back in New England

Week 4 was a disaster for the 3-0 New England Patriots. During Sunday’s pregame warm up, Bills’ safety Robert Blanton shoved Patriot’s third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett . New England’s wideout Malcolm Mitchell came to his fellow rookie’s defense but before you could figure out what was going on, a shoving match broke out between the Bills secondary and Patriots assistant coaches.

The commotion obviously distracted the Pats, who lost to the Bills 16-0 in what was New England’s first shutout since December 10t h 2006. But don’t worry Pats fans, it’s week five, which means quarterback Tom Brady is back to face the Cleveland Browns.

Falcons Jonesing with Record Setting Julio

Over in Atlanta, Julio Jones made Falcons fans very happy with his stellar week four. The Atlanta Falcons’ wideout had a record-setting day as his team defeated Cam Newton and the reigning NFC champions 48-33.

The six-year veteran had catches of 44 yards, 32 yards and 53 yards! While 225 yards is impressive in itself, the real highlight came when Jones finally made it to the end zone with a 75-yard touchdown catch, his 12th snag of the game, for a one-play drive that gave him exactly 300 yards receiving for the day.

Jones’ 300 yards is a team record and the win improves Atlanta to 3-1 for the season.

As good as things were for Jones is as bad as they’re looking for the Panthers, following their week four loss that brings their record to 1-3. Cam Newton took a brutal hit in the fourth quarter while scrambling into the end zone during a two-point conversion attempt.

Newton got rocked by rookie Deion Jones and was forced to leave the game and was evaluated for a concussion in the locker room.

Dear NFL Players: No Weapons at the Airport Please

I’ll leave you with one story that will have you shaking your head. Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham spent part of his bye week in jail after he was arrested for trying to bring a LOADED GUN through a Miami airport.

According to TMZ Sports, the 27-year-old had put his backpack through the X-ray machine at Miami International Airport when TSA workers noticed a loaded firearm.

Bradham told workers he forgot the gun was in the bag and showed officials his concealed weapons permit.

Bradham was taken into custody and booked for a 2nd degree misdemeanor concealed weapons charge. He was released from custody later that day on a $500 bond.
