Merry Christmas Faithful!

Last week, San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman DeForest Buckner and Levis teamed up to take 20 children from LeyVa Middle School in San Jose shopping for new clothes.

Leyva is at Title 1 school and the kids participating are in a leadership program that partner with Beyond Differences, “a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending social isolation by empowering middle schools nationwide to create a culture of inclusion for everyone. Their positive prevention initiatives address the challenges around middle school youth becoming more self-aware about their own family’s identity, traditions and culture while learning acceptance, inclusion and respect for their classmates. Social isolation has been identified as a precursor to bullying.”

Buckner helped the participants pick out clothes at the Levi’s Store at Westfield Valley Fair Mall. Many of them were looking for 49ers gear and many chose to pick out clothes for their family members and not themselves.

Beyond Differences is the organization Buckner has been supporting during the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats Campaign.

I created Fangirl Sports Network as a place for female sports fans to follow their favorite teams with content and coverage that speaks directly to females. It started with one and then eight and now 32 NFL Fangirls and 15 NBA Fangirls.
