Fangirl 5: Where to Eat, Caffeinate and Raise a Glass in L.A.

By October 1, 2018 No Comments

Gather your gals, pack your bags and take a trip to Cali to join the Fangirl gang. While we are all over the country, we are so pleased to call Southern California our home base. There are a million things to do in Los Angeles between the sun, the surf and the Hollywood glamour, but we are zeroing in on the best activity of them all (besides watching football of course)…eating! Here’s our guide on where to eat, caffeinate and raise a glass while you enjoy your time in La La Land.

Bottega Louie is a breathtaking restaurant, gourmet market and patisserie on the ground floor of the historic Brockman Building in Downtown Los Angeles. This impressive white-walled dining room, with perfectly pink treats covering a lovely pastry case, feels like you’re being whisked away to a delicious wonderland. Delight in and gram the rainbow-hued macarons, but don’t stop there because the entrees are out of this world. My main recommendations include the pan sauteed Chicken Parmesan and Burrata pizza with all of the fixings that will make your mouth water. Bottega Louie is a feast for your eyes and your taste buds.

“But First, Coffee.” A motto we Fangirls live by. Visit the caffeinated establishment that started it all. Alfred is the most adorable and delicious coffee hangout for everyone in the know in LA. From a delicious vanilla latte with light foam to their fabulous cold brew, this is the perfect place to get your afternoon caffeine fix, and just like everything else on our list, it’s extremely insta-story worthy.

This chain isn’t exclusive to Los Angeles, but it’s truly a big deal here. We don’t do drive-thru often, but when we do, it’s for sure IN-N-OUT. This delicious burger joint is not only kind to your wallet but it’s also one of the best burgers around. Relish in the not-so-secret menu and order your fries “Animal Style”, your burger “Flying Dutchman” (we know this sounds like a play that the Browns have tried this season, it’s not) and your shake “Neapolitan”. Then get ready to send us a thank you card because you’ll have experienced the greatest joys that life has to offer.

Now that you are sufficiently full, take a power nap, then throw on an outfit that makes you feel extra because we’re heading downtown to check out the rooftop scene. LA is definitely a sight to see and the ACE Hotel Rooftop is the place to be to see it all. Enjoy a fresh-squeezed cocktail overlooking the picturesque downtown skyline as you head to the the aptly named “Upstairs” rooftop bar. Yes there is a small pool but this hangout is really about the DJs, events and even yoga that takes place at this hip hangout.

The Nice Guy: After you’ve supported your nice guys on the field head on over to “The Nice Guy” in West Hollywood. This dimly lit West Hollywood hotspot combines the classic charm that would make Sinatra proud while seamlessly blending in modern flourishes. You are almost assured to see a celebrity, since there is a strict no photos policy; but honestly, you’ll feel like one because this spot doesn’t have a bad seat in the house. The food is delicious and even though it’s a bit pricey, it’s completely worth it. You’ll also need a resy to get in and dress accordingly because you’re so money baby!
