Last week was a solid Week 1 test on the road but now that the boys in black and silver were back in The Bay, it was time to show their city just how real they were.  Derek Carr and Michael Crabtree hooked up three times in the end zone for the hat trick and that’s really all the Raiders needed to take out the NY Jets at home. Carr ripped the Jets secondary on 23-28 passing and three scores, all to Crabtree, and 230 yards.

Even though Oakland was only up 14-10 with 3:11 in the 2nd quarter, it wasn’t hard to tell that the Jets were struggling to maintain the Raider’s offense and the Jet’s offense had issues converting key third downs to keep drives alive. Oakland dominated on both sides of the ball, including Marshawn Lynch’s 2-yard run right before the half to make it 21-10 and his first score in front of his new home crowd. Lynch’s run was set up after the Jets dropped a punt on the Raiders 4-yard line.

Cordarrelle Patterson and Jalen Richard both had long touchdown runs of their own in the second half to put the game completely out of reach. The Raider’s running backs racked up 180 yards on the ground controlling the yard sticks and clock in the second half to keep the Jets from getting within striking distance of any comeback.

Next week the Raiders head to D.C. to take on the 1-1 Redskins during primetime Sunday night in hopes of going up 3-0 in an AFC West division that looks like it’s going to be a tight race with the Broncos and Chiefs. Can the Raiders defense keep Cousins and company in check for 60 minutes? Will the Raiders offense of line continue to dominate so their running backs can flourish? And who will Washington’s Cornerback, Josh Norman, lock down on next week as Carr and his receivers continue to carve secondary’s in the redzone this season?
