1. Born to play. Jessica began tennis at a very young age, but turned professional in 2013 making her WTA debut at the Citi Open in Washington, D.C. She won her first WTA singles title at the 2021 Auckland Open, where she defeated former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki in the final. As of July 2023, Jessica is ranked No. 4 (singles) and No. 3 (doubles) in the WTA rankings, and is currently competing in the 2023 Wimbledon Tournament.
  2. Buffalo sports family. Jessica’s parents Terry and Kim Pegula are no strangers to the sports world. Their family-owned entertainment company based in Buffalo, New York, Pegula Sports and Entertainment, owns both NHL’s Buffalo Sabres and NFL’s Buffalo Bills.
  3. Coached by the best. Jessica has been coached by several renowned tennis instructors throughout her career, including David Witt who has also coached Venus and Serena Williams.
  4. Pet pals. Jessica is an animal lover through and through. She has not only had several pets of her own – including a miniature Australian shepherd, Maddie – she also founded a charity called ‘A Lending Paw,’ where they aim to connect rescued and trained service animals with individuals in need.
  5. Fall sports. In addition to tennis, Jessica enjoys both skiing and snowboarding, and come football season, loves to watch her favorite team, the Buffalo Bills!
