- Ready to shine. Victor was drafted first overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2023 NBA Draft last week. He is considered one of the most anticipated prospects since LeBron James and has been called a once in a generation talent.
- Basketball family tree. Victor first got into basketball from his mother who was a former player and coach. His sister, Eve, plays basketball professionally in France, his younger brother, Oscar, plays for a club team and both his grandparents played the sport.
- A boy with two names. He may only be known as Victor Wembanyama, but he also has another name. Victor’s second name is Longa, which is a Congolese surname.
- Fantasy land. Victor enjoys reading before he goes to bed at night. His favorite genre of books is fantasy and says the “Game of Thrones” books are the best he’s ever read.
- Kicking and saving. Victor considers football (soccer) his second best sport which he played the position of goalkeeper growing up. He also practiced judo as a youth.
