Talking Touchdowns: Broncos Looking to Buck the Cowboys

By September 14, 2017 No Comments

The Broncos will host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, in an effort to keep their home record clean. Both teams come into the game with a win under their belt, so let’s take a look at the matchup:

Denver Broncos vs. Dallas Cowboys

Who says Trevor Siemian isn’t a good QB?

  • Trevor Siemian shocked a lot of people on Monday, even true Broncos fans were skeptical about the QB’s skill set but with 219 yards & three TD’s (one he took himself).

BENNIE Who? Bennie Fowler made a name for himself with three receptions, 21 yards with two touchdowns.

  • Defense wasn’t outstanding but they did their job to stop Philip Rivers…for the most part.
The fourth quarter was messy, but players and coaches agree there is room for improvement.

The Cowboys just rolled over the New York Giants in Week 1, winning 19-3.

  • TE Jason Whitten legitimately scares me. The 6’5, 265 lbs receiver, surpassed Michael Irvin (11,904) for the most receiving yards in Cowboys history on Sunday. Witten also passed Tim Brown during the game, moving into sixth place on the NFL’s all-time career catches list, and went on to post a team-high seven receptions for 59 yards while recording the Cowboys’ first touchdown of the season.
  • As the saying goes, defense wins games, The Cowboys defensive unit held the Giants to 233 yards of total offense and sacked Eli Manning three times, with DeMarcus Lawrence earning the honors twice. .
  • The most interesting part of this matchup is going to be how the Broncos’ defense plays against Dak Prescott, who is a QB with a completely different skill set than Rivers. And, of course, Denver is going to need to stop Ezekiel Elliott, who had 100 rushing yards last week.

Game prediction

I am going Broncos 28-Cowboys 21. Both teams have the capability to be an offensive threat at any moment, but what it’s going to come down to, is who can step up and make stops.
