Talking Touchdowns: Recharged Rams Return Home For A Win? (Week 9)

Are you all feeling recharged?!  I don’t know about you guys but I REALLY needed that bye week. This team was driving me CRAZY. But now I feel ready to take on Sunday with the Mobsquad and I hope the Rams are ready also. The Rams battle the Carolina Panthers this week and here are some things to keep your eyes on:

  • Carolina is coming off a much-needed win over the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday. After making a Superbowl run in 2015, the Panthers have gotten off to a very slow start so far in their 2016 campaign as they are just 2-5 and their star quarterback Cam Newton has yet to find his groove. In his MVP 2015 season, Newton completed 60% of his passes with 35 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions. So far this season, Cam is completing 57% of his passes with 8 touchdowns and 6 interceptions, so hopefully this is something the Rams defense can take advantage of on Sunday.
  • The Rams are coming off a bye week, so they’ve had a whole extra week to game plan for a unique talent like Newton. Newton has been prone to turning the ball over, so the extra week of practice should hopefully bode well for the Rams defense. They’ll need to force some turnovers in order to keep the Panthers potent offense off the field.
  • Looks like Jeff Fisher is sticking with Case Keenum. After a four-interception performance against the Giants in London, Fisher publicly backed his quarterback stating he would make changes at wide receiver before making a change at quarterback. Based on his comments in his post game press conference, it sounds like Rams’ receiving corps needs to find a way to get on the same page with Keenum. Hopefully Kenny Britt, Brian Quick, and Tavon Austin spent extra time with Keenum during the bye week to solve this apparent issue.

The Rams schedule isn’t going to get any easier in the coming weeks, so I’m looking forward to seeing how they respond coming off a week of rest. Watch the video to get my game prediction! Go Rams!
